Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Soccerlytica("Soccerlytica", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use our website at www.soccerlytica.comand related services (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Soccerlytica is a football discovery platform operated from Accra, Ghana. The data controller for personal data collected through the Platform is Soccerlytica. You can reach us at mj@soccerlytica.com or +233 (244) 980692.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Platform:

  • Account data — email address, password (hashed by our authentication provider), account type (player, scout, agent, club, or academy).
  • Profile data — full name, country, city, date of birth, height, dominant foot, position, biography, affiliation, profile photo, and any other information you choose to add to your profile.
  • Content you upload — match videos, training clips, thumbnails, and metadata such as titles and descriptions.
  • Roster data (clubs and academies) — names, dates of birth, positions, and photos of players in your roster, which you confirm you are authorised to publish.
  • Activity data — videos you save, players you shortlist, videos you download, and basic technical logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) used to keep the service secure and reliable.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and operate your account.
  • To make your public profile and public videos discoverable by verified scouts and agents on the Platform.
  • To process video uploads and generate thumbnails.
  • To communicate service messages, such as account or security notices.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse or fraud.
  • To comply with applicable laws.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party advertising.

4. Who can see your data

  • Public profile fields and public videos are visible to any signed-in scout or agent on the Platform. By signing up as a player and uploading a public video, you consent to that video being viewable and downloadable by scouts and agents using Soccerlytica to evaluate talent.
  • Private fields (such as your email address and account settings) are not shown to other users.
  • Shortlists are visible only to the scout or agent who created them.
  • Service providers who host the Platform — Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (web hosting), and Railway (backend hosting) — process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

5. Players under 16

Soccerlytica does not allow direct accounts for players under the age of 16. Under-16 players may only appear on the Platform as members of a club or academy roster, and only when the club or academy confirms it has obtained the necessary parental or guardian consent. Under-16 players cannot upload videos themselves; only their academy can publish footage in which they appear.

If you believe a profile or video on Soccerlytica involves a minor without proper consent, contact us at mj@soccerlytica.com and we will remove it promptly.

6. International scouts and agents

Soccerlytica is operated from Ghana, but our scouts and agents may be located anywhere in the world, including the European Union and the United Kingdom. When you make a profile or video public on Soccerlytica, you accept that it may be viewed and downloaded by users in those regions. Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR apply to you, you retain the rights described in section 8.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, videos, thumbnails, and shortlist data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep limited records for legal or security reasons.

8. Your rights

You can:

  • Access and update your profile from your dashboard at any time.
  • Delete individual videos at any time.
  • Request deletion of your entire account by emailing mj@soccerlytica.com.
  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
  • Object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Platform secure. We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

10. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections, row-level security on our database, and private storage with signed URLs for video access. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong password and to contact us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or through the Platform.

12. Contact
